EHOC-ers

Eusoff Hall Orientation Committee (EHOC) is definitely one of the committees which will make every Eusoffian proud of him/herself. EHOC members (a.k.a EHOCers) are the ones who stay in hall during vacation period while the others are enjoying overseas trips or working part-time. EHOCers spend their vacation in hall doing preparations for Rag Day, Flag Day and the Freshmen Orientation. EHOC is subdivided into three teams – Rag Team, Flag Team and Programmes Team. Our EHOC head this year is none other than Wayne. He was Rag Head 08/09 and now the BIG BOSS of EHOC. He’ll make sure that you’ll never forget your first experience coming down for hall orientation, Flag Day, and Rag Day.

EHOC Programmes Team shall not be left out for their efforts in organizing the Freshmen Orientation programmes.

The Programmers are the people who organize the freshmen orientation. Their mission is to help you to adapt to university life and have a sense of belonging as Eusoffians. To achieve this mission, they have prepared lots of interesting activities which you will only know when you come down for orientation this year: Age of The Titans. Sam, our Programmes Head this year, has made sure that the orientation programme this year will be an unforgettable experience for you freshmen coming into Eusoff Hall. Starting from the moment you set foot in Eusoff Hall, Sam and her team will give you the warmest welcome and help you to feel at home with the fun and meaningful orientation activities that have been planned for you. 24-29 July is definitely not a right time to just stay in your room!!

Here is her punchline during meetings: “Everybody, close your laptop and listen to me.” :P

Last but not least, the success of Eusoff Hall Orientation 2009/2010, is not only determined by the hard work of the committees, but also by the support from the freshmen (READ: YOU!!). Join us in this orientation and feel the pride of being a Eusoffian!

Rag

Girls of Rag

NUS Rag Day is an NUS festival day when every hall of residence and faculty in NUS will proudly present their floats together with dance performances to all NUS students, staff ,as well as the public. Eusoff Hall’s Rag floats are famed in NUS for their fantastic structures with designs that are always refreshing and eye-catching. Nevertheless, our Rag Team continues to put in their every ounce of blood, sweat and tears, to build a float not just to win the Chancellor’s shield, but rather a float that every Eusoffian will take pride in, one that will represent Eusoff Hall’s fighting spirit and excellence. Joon Kit, this year’s Rag Head, was involved in Rag 08/09, and is now in charge of coordinating the Raggers. You will be able to take a look at the wonderful work that he and the other raggers do if you head down to the foyer. Make sure that you’ll come down and sing our cheers aloud to support them on Rag Day, 8th August 2009.

Flag

The Eusoff Flag Team has over the years consistently been encouraging and directing the hall’s efforts in raising money for the needy and the poor. This year’s Flag Team (you can call them Flaggers) is dedicated to again do its utmost to help the charities, and at the same time, raise the awareness throughout our hall and NUS of the lesser-known charities that are in dire need of funding. Sherry is coordinating the Flaggers this year. In addition to ensuring that Flag Day runs smoothly, she also looks for sponsorship for orientation. Sherry and her fellow flaggers will open your eyes about the significance of Flag Day. Besides that, they are also the ones to thank for the wonderful goodies in your matriculation pack, the fun you’ll have in Freshmen Orientation Bash, and the unforgettable experience of taking to the streets to ask for donation. Come down for Flag Day on 4th August 2009, to support the hard work they have put in and also to do your bit for charity!
